Goodbye At Home
Compassionate Pet Euthanasia at Home
One of the final, loving acts of kindness that you can give to your beloved pet is the gift of being able to say goodbye to them in the comfort of your own home, encircled by the people who care most about them.
It’s never easy talking about a beloved pet when it’s time for their passing. During this painful time, we promise to be understanding and compassionate when discussing this end of life decision.
When you call At Home Veterinary Care about assisting with the passing of your pet, we will speak with you about this process and answer any questions that you might have. In some instances, you may not be sure if the time is right. If so, we can discuss your pet’s quality of life, or we can schedule an appointment for a quality of life assessment at your home before you make this decision. Please be assured that the final decision is yours to make and that we will be there to assist and guide you through the whole process.
Dr. Packer will come to your home. He will meet you and your pet, have you sign some brief paperwork and answer any questions or concerns that you may have.
Dr. Packer will give a sedative to your pet that will allow them to comfortably rest and not feel any fear or discomfort during the process.
After you pet is resting comfortably, we will administer the euthanasia solution. We will then monitor your pet and let you know when he or she has passed. This is a painless, tranquil process. If you can imagine falling asleep, and then peacefully passing away in your sleep, this is our goal for your beloved pet.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, you can consult our euthanasia FAQ page for additional information or please feel free to call us. We will be happy to assist you with these needs.
